In June 2012, CDF provided $13.75 million in New Markets Tax Credit financing to Swedish Covenant Hospital (SCH) to fund a portion of the hospital’s new 80,000 square foot Foster Medical Pavilion, located at 5215 N. California Avenue. CDF funds were used to develop two components of the facility. The first includes 6,158 square feet of medical office space leased to SCH’s pediatrics division. This facility serves over 3,500 unique patients with approximately 11,200 visits annually.
CDF funds were also used to develop 17,000 square feet of medical office space leased to Erie Family Health Center, an FQHC. Erie Family serves 11,200 unique patients per year with nearly 45,000 visits. This new facility has significantly expanded the medical campus’ ability to serve low-income patients.Portions of the building not utilizing CDF funds include ground level retail, an ambulatory surgery center, and private physician offices.
The building was awarded LEED Gold Certification in May 2013. Erie Family Health Center held a grand opening in June 2013.
