Esperanza Health Centers Phase 2
In March 2023, CDF provided $12 million in NMTC allocation to support the construction of a 44,000 SF health and wellness center for Esperanza Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center focused on improving health care access on Chicago’s Southwest side. The project, which is adjacent to Esperanza’s existing health clinic and completes its flagship Brighton Park campus, includes 34 exam rooms, 12 counseling rooms, space for specialty programs like senior day services and patient education, and a full-service café.
The new facility increases Esperanza’s capacity to deliver health care services to underserved residents and to launch innovative programs that address acute neighborhood needs. At full operation, the project will provide 20,000 unique patients annually with primary and behavioral health care services. The new building will have a particular focus on seniors, a growing portion of Brighton Park’s population, which Esperanza will serve through geriatric health services and on-site Adult Day services via its newly-established Program of All Inclusive Care center. The project is expected to employ 129 full-time equivalent permanent positions and host a family practice residency program with Rush University Medical Center.
SCORE provided the project with $10 million in NMTC allocation, Self-Help Ventures Fund provided $7 million in NMTC allocation, and PNC Bank provided NMTC equity and an additional $2 million in NMTC allocation.
