Truong Grand Opening
On September 29, 2012, CDF-funded Truong Enterprises opened its new facility at 2300 S. Halsted in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.
CDF provided $9.5 million in New Markets Tax Credits to Truong Enterprises to construct a 61,000 square foot cold storage industrial building for distribution and processing of ethnic and specialty produce. The expansion is expected to retain 45 jobs and create about 20 new jobs at competitive wages that offer full benefits including vacation, personal leave, and a comprehensive insurance package.
Truong is a minority-owned firm specializing in the distribution of oriental fruits and vegetables, as well as a variety of imported and domestically-produced frozen foods and grocery items. To learn more about Truong Enterprises, please visit the company website.
