A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today for the Shops and Lofts at 47, a mixed-use development at the corner of 47th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue in the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood. CDF provided $11.75 million in New Markets Tax Credits to finance the 55,000 square foot retail portion of project which is anchored by a Walmart Neighborhood Market. The residential portion of the project, which was financed seperately, includes 96 mixed-income housing units.
